Award-winning PCIe Sharing Appliances that Virtualize Server I/O Resources
The award-winning VIO-4000 Series PCIe Sharing appliances consolidate and virtualize network and storage connectivity to a rack of servers, providing up to 80 Gbps of Ethernet uplink bandwidth, 32 Gbps of FC uplink bandwidth, and/or up to 16 TB of local storage connectivity to up to 16 servers. The VIO-4000 Series PCIe Sharing appliance also increases the capability of virtualized servers to unprecedented levels by providing VMs with the highest flexibility for connectivity bandwidth and configurable access to I/O. The VIO-4000 Series PCIe Sharing appliance enables the deployment of stateless computing and private cloud environments using industry-standard x86 servers, OS and applications without requiring forklift upgrades.
The VIO-4000 Series PCIe Sharing appliance eliminate and consolidate server I/O adapters, network and storage access layer switches and cables in a rack. The VIO-4000 Appliance connects to each server using a PCI Express® (PCIe) cable that connects to the server-native PCIe bus and is compliant with the PCISIG Single-Root IOV (SR-IOV) and Multi-Root IOV (MR-IOV) specifications. This can also reduce the need to deploy any new network/SAN fabrics in the data center and reduces I/O power consumption, capital equipment costs, cabling complexity, server management complexity and operational expenses by more than 60%.
The VIO-4000 Series PCIe Sharing appliances are the first products on the market to consolidate, virtualize and share the major types of server networking and storage connectivity including Ethernet, Fibre Channel, IP Storage, SAS/SATA RAID controllers, traditional hard drives, enterprise class SSDs and even PCIe based SSDs. This results in providing the most efficient method for deploying network and storage connectivity to servers.
The VIO-4000 Series PCIe Sharing appliance enables servers to be wired once, and I/O resource moves/adds/changes to be made from a remote management web console, without requiring physical changes to the equipment in the rack. worldwide partner network
